Built to help every organization get discovered.

CommunityConx reads what’s already public, links back to the source, and gives every local organization more visibility — automatically.

How It Works

We read what’s already public.

CommunityConx discovers events by reading the publicly available websites of local organizations — the same pages any resident or visitor can see by typing in a URL. We don’t access anything behind logins, paywalls, or restricted areas.

This is the same approach used by Google and every major search engine: we index information that organizations have already chosen to make public. The difference is that we specialize in finding community events and making them easy to browse in one place.

What we read

  • Public event pages and calendars
  • Flyers and images posted to organization websites
  • iCal feeds and embedded Google Calendars
  • Publicly listed dates, times, locations, and descriptions

What we never access

  • Password-protected or members-only content
  • Private social media posts or groups
  • Personal data, email lists, or donor records
  • Anything behind a paywall or login screen

Community First

We drive traffic back. We never compete.

Every event CommunityConx surfaces links directly back to the original organization’s website. When someone discovers a library lecture through your community calendar, the library gets the click-through and the registration — not us.

CommunityConx is an amplifier. Organizations that might only reach people who already follow them on Facebook or check their website now get discovered by anyone browsing your community calendar. That’s more visibility, more attendance, and more community engagement — with zero additional effort on their part.

📍

Every event links back

Click any event and you're taken to the original organization's page. They get the traffic and the credit.

📣

Broader reach for everyone

Organizations reach people beyond their own followers. Your calendar becomes a discovery engine for the whole community.

🤝

A rising tide

When your community calendar is genuinely complete, everyone benefits — residents find more to do, and organizations reach more people.

Your Calendar, Your Rules

Nothing goes live without your approval.

CommunityConx finds events automatically, but you decide what your community sees. Every extracted event passes through your review dashboard before it appears on your calendar.

You choose which organizations to include by managing your source list. You can add new sources anytime, remove ones that aren’t relevant, and review every event before it goes live. If something looks wrong — a misread date, a duplicate — you fix it or skip it with one click.

1

You curate the source list

Choose which organization websites to include. Add or remove sources at any time through your admin dashboard.

2

You review before publishing

Every discovered event lands in your review queue first. Approve, edit, or skip — nothing is automatic.

3

You control the presentation

Your brand, your embed, your community's look and feel. The public never sees CommunityConx — they see your calendar.

Responsible Practices

We follow the rules of the road.

🤖

We honor robots.txt

If a website asks automated readers not to index certain pages, we respect that directive — no exceptions. This is the same standard protocol that Google and every reputable search engine follows.

🕊️

Gentle, scheduled checks

We don't hammer websites with constant requests. CommunityConx checks each source on a reasonable schedule — typically once daily — with minimal impact on the site's performance.

Opt-out anytime

If any organization prefers not to be included, we remove them immediately upon request. No questions, no delays. Just let us or the host organization know.

📋

Facts, not content

We extract event details — dates, times, locations, descriptions — and link back to the source. We don't republish articles, copy full page content, or replace the need to visit the original site.

Our approach follows the same industry-standard web indexing practices used by Google and every major search engine. The key difference: we specialize in community events, and we always link back to the source.

Coming Soon

Organizations can claim their listing.

We’re building tools that let organizations take an active role if they choose to. Claim your source to get notified when events are discovered, suggest corrections, or submit events directly. It’s entirely optional — CommunityConx works perfectly without it — but for organizations that want more control, it turns a passive listing into an active partnership.

Good for your community. Respectful to everyone in it.
